MINT CARD THEY ARE CRAP

Having had a MINT credit card for over a year I decided I wanted to change the nominated account from which MINT would take my monthly payments. After around 4 months of MINT failing to reset my direct debit information, MINT assured me that when the DD was finally set up a large payment to cover the payment arrear incured over the previous months would be debited in one lump which I was happy with. I received a call on a Friday night from somebody at MINT asking if that was OK and the debit would be made in 3 days. The payment wasn’t taken for some unknown reason and a month later I received a similar call. After that, payments continued in the usual manner.

However, recently I received a termination notice on the account from MINT and an order to cut up my card for default on payments. The account has been frozen/terminated, damaging my credit rating and causing me inconvenience.

Having explained this to the friendly people at MINT they told me there was nothing they could do and it was my problem!

There incompetence is my problem apparently!!!

after missing a £10 minimum payment, mint decided to fine me £25 (fair enough) but at the same time, decided to reduce my credit limit by £100, making my ballance £1.50 over the new set amount, and charge me another £25 in one swoop!

    where’s the justice in that?

I had a mint card which was my main lifeline for cash when i was living out of the country for a few months. It was on a direct debit and I never got near the limit, so it should have been pretty reliable. However, during that time they sent me to my home address, without asking or warning, a new replacement card which was a different colour with a bigger limit. If I didn’t want the card it was apparently my duty to ring them to cancel it; but sadly because I wasn’t in the country, I just continued oblivious using the old one until suddenly it was cut off whilst I was out on a date (I couldn’t have both, and silence = I want to move to the new one). So I had to borrow money from her to pay for the meal, and then borrow from my friends until I got home, and then apply for a new credit card from a reliable supplier.

Had a mint card ever since they first brought them out, a couple of days late with a payment in November (first time ever) charged late payment fee plus interest. Rang explained everything, they wern,t the slightest bit interested ,my problem ,not theirs company policy!
Changed to different credit card did all the balance transfers etc, heard nothing from mint in December fine.
8th January get statement from Mint (dated December),owe them small amount, minimum payment should reach us by January 2nd! they sent ME the statement a month late, interest charged late payment fee charged even though they sent it a month late, so ring ,explain it all , surprise, surprise it’s my fault because i knew a payment was due so i should have rung them to find out how much i had to pay.As usual don’t give a toss my fault not theirs.
